Registered Nurse Per Diem

Job Summary Provides direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of patients. Coordinates psychiatric and/or medical emergencies to ensure proper care of individuals in crisis and safety of other patients. Acts as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities. Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications. Assumes the role of Charge Nurse for the shift. Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Training and Experience: Current RI nursing license. Special Qualifications: B.S.N required; minimum of 3 years of Acute Care Experience. Availability for Training First week: 4 shifts of day training. Remaining training will consist of 3 to 4 shifts per week (first or second), with no weekends or holidays. Per Diem Positions Require 6 shifts per month, including 2 weekend shifts.
