Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $128084 - $169711.3 Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Trade Compliance & Logistics ? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our Supply & Logistics function. The Manager - Global Trade Compliance & Logistics - is responsible for developing and executing outbound logistics strategies and improvement plans to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of materials to sites, partners, customers, and service centers. This role will oversee transportation management, carrier partnerships, order fulfillment, and delivery performance while ensuring full compliance with global trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Outbound Logistics Strategic Leadership & Execution:

• Develop and implement outbound logistics strategies, organizational processes, and team members to create a scalable function for growth, while optimizing transportation performance and cost efficiency

• Develop 3-year transformation roadmap to chart the course of global logistics to optimize systems, data, and operating processes

• Define organizational transportation modes, carrier selection, and route planning to enhance service levels and reduce transit times

• Define and utilize logistics technology, data analytics, and automation to enhance visibility and decision-making in outbound logistics

• Conduct risk-based analysis of import-export shipments to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring compliance and safeguarding against regulatory violations.

Leadership & People Management:

• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.

• Role model appropriate and professional workplace behaviors, address/mediate conflicts to restore harmony, and support a positive, healthy and inclusive workplace culture in accordance with S&C's mission, vision, values and guiding principles.

• Manage departmental administrative team member processes including but not limited to recruitment, induction, vacation management, performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and workforce/succession planning.

• Proactively establish, monitor, and hold team members accountable to clear responsibilities and accountabilities, provide ongoing performance feedback, both positive and developmental, address performance gaps in a timely manner, recognize and reward achievements, and initiate decisions for corrective actions and terminations where required.

Carrier/Vendor Relationships:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and third-party logistics service providers to ensure capacity, high service levels, and optimal pricing, while collaborating with Global Logistics Sourcing.

• Professionally resolve import or export issues with brokers, agencies, and vendors as they arise.

• Continuously evaluate the need for new logistic partnerships while fostering relationships and conducting RFPs when needed.

Global Trade Compliance:

• Perform or coordinate third-party classifications of products under the Harmonized Tariff System and the Department of Commerce to ensure accurate tariff classifications and compliance with applicable regulations.

• Regularly update import-export compliance manuals and standard operating procedures to reflect current regulations and ensure they are current with import-export requirements relevant to the supply chain.

• Create and maintain documented procedures for all import-export processes to ensure compliance with regulations and operational efficiency.

• Research trade requirements and provide recommendations for process changes to support the company’s integration into new regions.

• Provide global support to other business units and advise on trade compliance and logistics issues across different regions to ensure cohesive and compliant operations worldwide.

• Participates in new product management groups, identifying import-export requirements early in the product development process.

KPI & Budget Support:

• Develop and analyze internal and carrier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), logistic dashboards, and reports to assess performance and drive improvements.

• Manage the department budget, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and identifying resource and equipment costs for projects.

Training & Awareness:

• Develop and conduct training programs on import-export processes, customs valuation, classifications, INCO terms, and origin concepts to enhance awareness and compliance among team members.

• Stay current with import/export regulations as they pertain to S&C’s supply chain.

• Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

What you’ll Need To Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field

• 7+ years of experience in import/export or global trade compliance roles, with a strong background in logistics and supply chain management.

• 5+ years of leadership experience within a Supply & Logistics function.

• In-depth understanding of international trade laws, customs regulations, and compliance requirements.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working in a compliance-related role, especially one involving export compliance.

• Sound business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve complex issues, and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement.

• Great communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation). Able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, from management to support staff. Creative and persuasive in communicating how interventions can improve current practices.

• Sound interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, including the flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.

• Great organizational, planning, and project management skills, coordinating internal and external resources and juggling key demands.

• Sound leadership skills with an ability to lead, guide, mentor, and delegate to deliver results, build teams and capabilities, embrace change, drive decisions and results, embrace culture and inclusion, and exhibit integrity.

• Great computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI. Experience with developing or using digital tools.

• Experience with ERP Systems, Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Global Trade Management systems

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field

• Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD)

• Experience using an ERP platform, preferably Oracle, and Oracle Transportation Management module (OTM).

• Brokerage license, brokerage experience, and auditing experience.

• Experience in classifying harmonized tariff codes and ECCNs.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
