Ideal candidates will thrive in a purpose-led culture that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability. \n Accountabilities: Lead and manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting while maintaining high standards of compliance and operational efficiency. Oversee all accounting operations, including revenue recognition, accounts payable activities, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy. Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration. Establish cross-functional processes, training programs, and backup procedures to ensure business continuity and operational resilience. Identify and implement technology enhancements and process improvements to optimize accounting workflows and increase team efficiency. Support annual audit activities and coordinate the preparation of required tax filings, including IRS Form 990 reporting. Assist in developing and maintaining financial policies, internal controls, and compliance procedures to strengthen governance and mitigate risk. Serve as a key financial partner across the organization, collaborating with stakeholders to support strategic and operational initiatives. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; advanced degree, CPA, or CMA certification preferred. Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with nonprofit accounting experience considered an advantage. Demonstrated leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing accounting teams. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, audit processes, and accounting best practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience using accounting systems; familiarity with Sage Intacct is preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively under pressure, and consistently meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience collaborating across various organizational levels. Commitment to working within a mission-driven, values-based environment.
