Packager Fast?Paced Food Production | Immediate Start | Growth Potential Join a high?volume tortilla production team where you'll package finished products, maintain quality standards, and keep the line running smoothly. What You'll Do Package finished tortillas accurately at the end of the production line Verify packaging materials and ensure correct cartons are used throughout the shift Confirm tortilla counts and notify leads immediately if stacks are off Place tortillas into bags quickly and neatly as they exit the counter stacker Stage packages for sealing and confirm sealing equipment is functioning properly Inspect seals and remove any packages that do not meet quality standards Verify code dates for accuracy and legibility Pack cases with the correct number of packages, using inserts when needed Assemble and label boxes for use on the line Monitor box printers for clear, accurate printing Seal and tape boxes securely for shipment Inspect pallets and remove damaged pallets from use Stack cartons in the correct configuration with readable expiration codes Apply bar code labels and verify pallet counts Wrap pallets and move them to staging or warehouse areas Maintain supply levels for packaging materials, boxes, pallets, and labels Remove waste and keep the packing area clean Report equipment issues to machine operators or leads Enter production data including counts, codes, and job information Rotate duties between bagging, boxing, palletizing, and related tasks Lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift Stand for full shift in a fast?paced, hot environment Follow food safety rules including hygiene and contamination?prevention procedures Wear required PPE such as gowns, hair nets, beard nets, and hearing protection Coordinate with leads to maintain smooth production flow Maintain a clean work area in compliance with facility standards Essential Skills 6+ months packaging experience in production or manufacturing Food production experience (bakery strongly preferred) Ability to work in heat up to 100F Lift 50 lbs consistently Stand for 8 hours in a fast?paced setting Comfort with computers for data entry Follow detailed instructions for counts, labels, and code dates Strict food safety compliance including PPE and no personal items Comfort working around flour and airborne gluten Strong attention to detail Reliable attendance Preferred Experience Packaging line experience (bagging, boxing, labeling, palletizing) High?speed production experience Inventory verification for counts, labels, and bar codes Box printer familiarity Team?oriented communication Why Work Here Family?oriented culture with many employees working alongside relatives Competitive pay with potential for performance?based raises Rapidly growing company with expansion plans Free tortillas for employees Break area remodel planned for improved comfort Shorts allowed on the production floor for added comfort in warm areas Work Environment High?volume tortilla production facility Hot environment near ovens (up to 100F) Airborne flour and gluten present Fast?paced, physically demanding work Standing for ~8 hours and lifting up to 50 lbs Rotation through bagging, boxing, palletizing Required PPE: gowns, hair nets, beard nets, hearing protection No jewelry, makeup, nail polish, or similar items allowed Shorts permitted on the production floor Two 30?minute breaks (one paid, one unpaid) coordinated with leads Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.15 - $18.15/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
