Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver nursing care in the CVICU, including ongoing assessment and documentation.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff within their scope of practice.
- Provide care for patients with ventilation needs, neurological or traumatic injuries, respiratory failure, and complex hemodynamic monitoring.
- Interpret ECG rhythms, respond to life-threatening events, and manage ICU monitors with appropriate interventions.
- Manage invasive monitoring devices (e.g., ICP/ventriculostomy) and other critical care equipment.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and manage indwelling catheters and drainage devices.
- Adhere to unit policies and chain-of-command procedures; participate in handoffs and care planning for continuous patient care.

Requirements
- Licenses and certifications: Current California RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year of hire or transfer; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS as applicable.
- Experience: At least two years of recent relevant critical care experience in an ICU/CCU/trauma environment.
- Education: High School diploma or GED; Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Additional: Ability to perform effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced CVICU setting and work a 3x12-hour schedule with rotating shifts.
