Job Description:

- Multi-system failure patients requiring ventilation
- Neuro/trauma and respiratory failure management
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Take pride in planning, coordinating, and providing exceptional nursing care to patients in a fast-paced critical care setting.
- Supervise and delegate care responsibilities effectively to ancillary personnel.


Requirements:


- Education:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Associate Degree (A.A. or A.S.): Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: Preferred


- Experience:
- Completion of a Critical Care Nursing course: Required
- Six months previous critical care experience: Preferred


- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current RN license in the state of practice: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC): Required within 1 year of hire or transfer into the department


Essential Functions:


- Provide appropriate nursing interventions in both stable and emergency situations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in routine nursing skills:
- Medication administration
- Intravenous therapy, including blood product management
- Care and maintenance of indwelling catheters and drains
- Safe use of medical equipment in the critical care setting
- Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage care for patients during life-threatening emergencies.
- Verify alarm settings with the Monitor Technician, ensuring compliance with policy.
- Show expertise in managing patients requiring ICP and ventriculostomy monitoring.
