Registered Nurse, CVICU | San Luis Obispo, California | Start 11/16/2026 | 13 weeks | 36 hours per week (3x12-hour nights) | Travel - Temporary Assignment
This CVICU nursing role is a travel assignment in a hospital-level critical care setting. The position requires planning, coordination, and delivery of specialized nursing care for critically ill patients in a high-acuity environment. You will supervise and delegate care to eligible ancillary staff within scope of practice and apply advanced critical care knowledge for patients requiring ventilation, neuro/trauma care, respiratory support, and hemodynamic monitoring.

Responsibilities
- Provide planning, coordination, and direct nursing care for patients in the CVICU
- Monitor and manage patients with multi-system failure requiring ventilation, neuro/trauma care, respiratory support, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel consistent with their scope of practice
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement and adjust individualized care plans
- Administer medications and therapies, interpret lab results, and optimize ventilator and monitoring settings
- Maintain patient safety, infection control practices, and accurate documentation of care and interventions

Requirements
- Active RN license (California)
- Experience in critical care nursing or CVICU knowledge; interest or background in high-acuity cardiac, neuro, and respiratory care preferred
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts in a hospital-level critical care environment
- Proficient communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced, high-stakes care
- Eligible for a 13-week travel assignment and able to operate in a CVICU setting
