Reports To: AVP of Peer to Peer Fundraising FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt Date: August 2026 National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) unrelentingly invests in, mobilizes, and unites our community to discover a cure, deliver effective treatments, and advocate for patients and their care partners. NBTS is a leading policy advocacy and research organization as well as a convener of brain tumor research leaders including industry, regulators, funders, clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates. We also provide resources and personalized support to patients and families, and we bring all members of the brain tumor community together each year through our walks, races, community events and Gray Nation Endurance programs. Our results include paradigm-shifting research discoveries, the development of new treatments, increased federal funding for brain tumor research, innovative new clinical trials, and opportunities for entrepreneurship and venture philanthropy to benefit brain tumor research and health care delivery. While we have seen significant progress in terms of scientific understanding of brain tumor biology, we are unsatisfied with the status quo of today’s treatment options. NBTS continues to invest in new ideas and research poised to incent the development and realization of treatments that dramatically increase survival and quality of life for patients. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Peer to Peer Fundraising, the Director of Regional Development, Texas will oversee assigned regions, projects, and signature P2P events with an emphasis on donor and volunteer management. The role is responsible for recruiting new P2P teams that raise funds for NBTS through outreach, relationship building with individuals who lead teams, and year round stewardship of donors; both individual and corporate. The role also involves development marketing activities in collaboration with NBTS Marketing and Communications team, and cross-departmental collaboration with other NBTS functions to assist on occasional projects, tactics and queries. Supervision Exercised: N/A, No supervisory responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive. Acts as primary lead for assigned events and projects, including collaborating with volunteers to achieve P2P and corporate fundraising goals within budget, while delivering superior volunteer service and support to constituents. Responsible for working collaboratively to achieve campaign fundraising goals for DFW Brain Tumor Walk & Race and other regions as assigned. Supports territory expansion to new regions as assigned. Provides ongoing strategic assessment and volunteer engagement, reporting to AVP and CDO on regional growth and sustainability plans, for assigned markets. In partnership with the Assistant Vice President of Peer to Peer Fundraising and cross departmental collaboration, execute the strategic growth plan for the state of Texas with plans to manage a second event in another Texas region beginning in fall 2027. Identify, cultivate and steward hospital partnerships in assigned regions to support NBTS events and activities and support our patient community. Oversees assigned event expenses and vendor contracts as directed by AVP of Peer to Peer Fundraising. Responsible for all regional corporate partnerships for Texas based events, from securing the sponsorship dollars to benefit activation. Work in partnership with the Corporate & Foundations team for any national-level sponsors for the Texas region. Manages and cultivates assigned donor prospect portfolio and captures all relevant data in Salesforce. Collaborates across NBTS teams (MarComms, Community/Govt, Corporate, Research, Finance) to ensure an integrative approach to volunteer engagement and communications; Works to identify opportunities for greater donor prospecting activities among teams and individual supporters. Educates and supports committee chairs and event committees to build knowledge of NBTS programs and mission, and increase participation and revenue. As new event regions are identified as priority, cultivate a Volunteer Planning Committee in the area in advance of new event launch. Researches, identifies, and recommends a range of philanthropic and marketing-related strategies, ensuring that NBTS’ engagement with external partners remains aligned with our core values. Host and attend in person community meetings at minimum once a month or as needed to achieve campaign goals in the assigned region. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent prior work experience required. 5-7 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising required. Experience in logistics, community organizing, and project/event management required. Experience executing and launching events from initial concept to revenue generating strongly preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Experience and strength in recruiting, training, and cultivating volunteer leadership. Demonstrated ability to meet fundraising goals, to plan development strategies, and to interact effectively with a wide range of constituents. Ability to use data to analyze goals, budgets, and projections and advise Assistant Vice President on market sustainability and growth. Ability to work cooperatively and cross functionally, and to communicate effectively in a virtual team environment. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including public speaking skills. Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, attention to detail, and ability to think strategically and execute plans to completion. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously; Proven flexibility to effectively respond to changing circumstances and priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information, diplomacy, tact, and professionalism in actions and appearance. Strong computer competency, including all MS Office and data-gathering tools; familiarity with events platforms and Salesforce or equivalent fundraising and constituent relationship management software (CRM) a plus. Valid driver’s license required. This role involves local travel to meetings, events and donor visits requiring access to a car. Location: Remote/Telework (Dallas area required) This role will primarily be performed in a remote home office environment, which must be located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. The NBTS telework policy requires employees to perform all remote work within their state of residence at time of hire. Hours: Normal hours for this role are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Attendance at NBTS events or meetings will be required on the weekend or outside of normal business hours. Valid driver’s license required. This role involves local travel to meetings, events and donor visits requiring access to a car. Domestic travel by car and/or plane is required up to 25% of the time. Travel may be inclusive of day travel for meetings, community engagement visits, overnight travel for events or a combination of both. This role is largely sedentary and requires sitting or standing in a stationary position for extended periods of time. This role frequently involves communicating on the phone and operating a computer for at least 70% of the work day. Total Rewards: Compensation: The anticipated compensation for this role is $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year, plus benefits. We welcome applicants with a range of professional experience.
