Senior Estimator
I'm currently partnering with a well-established heavy civil contractor based in Freeport, NY, to recruit an experienced Senior Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure and heavy civil projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. You'll play a key role in securing major projects while working alongside an experienced leadership team in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.
As a Senior Estimator, you'll lead the preparation of competitive bids and cost estimates for a diverse portfolio of heavy civil projects, working closely with operations, project management, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to develop successful proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimating process for heavy civil and infrastructure projects from bid invitation through submission.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
What We're Looking For:
- 7+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction.
- Experience estimating projects such as highways, bridges, utilities, site development, infrastructure, marine, or public works.
- Strong knowledge of public and private bid procedures.
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids while meeting tight deadlines.
