Job Description
Title: Surgical Technician
Schedule: Monday-Friday 0645-1515 with call/lates and weekend requirements
Assignment Details
Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technician School or an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing
- Must have prior experience as a Surgical Technician (2 years) and at least 1 year of travel/temp experience
- If a graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing, one year of surgical technician/scrubbing experience required, or two years preferred
- Passage of National Surgical Technician Certification Exam is preferred
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association is required
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide surgical support under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Clinical Supervisor.
- Assist the surgeon with instrumentation needs and act as a liaison between the physician, patient, and family.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members and assist in the orientation process of new personnel.
- Attend team meetings and cover call duties as required.
- Participate in general surgery and other interdisciplinary or departmental committees as needed.

- Candidate will be required to complete Net Learning modules within 1 week of receiving confirmation.
