The successful candidate will work as part of the post-silicon validation group; facilitating all aspects of debug and resolution for system level failures working with engineering teams across AMD. Candidate will be immersed in challenging system debug work as well as developing & executing debug strategy for optimal debug throughput on current product to meet milestones at POR quality. The system debug lead will also help in driving improvements to future debug methodology. The candidate should be able to work in a global environment while maintaining a synergetic culture. THE PERSON:  We are looking for a disciplined and dynamic, Lead System Debug Engineer - AI Rack Validation to join our growing post-Si debug team supporting the next generation of AMD’s flagship server CPU & Instinct products. As a diligent leader in Validation, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions to avail optimal debug throughput. In this high visibility position, you will be part of a leading team to innovate and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. Your technical leadership skills, validation and debug expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, root cause and resolution. Your agility and collaborative approach will be essential to work with with  Engineering teams and other stakeholders (System Architects, IP design, SoC, FW, SW, manufacturing). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Debug issues found during Silicon bring-up, Systems Validation, and production phases of SOC programs. Lead complex debug efforts for internal Silicon findings to identify root cause and resolution. Ensure issues are solved on time with quality. Manage and track technical issues, risks and priorities to un-gate program milestones.Publish debug program indicators to identify major roadblocks and drive changes to improve debug throughput. Manage customer and executive communications, including program status, risks and opportunities. Drive technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across triage & debug, including tool, script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives Work with multiple teams across global time zonesPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details Extensive experience in validation roles involving debugging OS, FW, Silicon, and HW issues. Understanding of industry standard busses and their software stack, such as PCIe, CXL. Strong knowledge of X86 architecture, SoC design, memory, RAS & power managementExtensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy Good understanding and experience in platform/ system level debug, Operating System, Device Drivers and System BIOS interactions.Excellent communication and coordination skills. Detailed oriented, highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines.Experience in technical program management.
