We are looking for an Accountant to support core financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in San Jose, California. This role is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to timely reporting. The position will work across payables, receivables, and general ledger processes while helping ensure strong financial controls and reliable documentation.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, review payment details for accuracy, and support timely accounts payable activities.
• Manage customer billing and cash application tasks to keep accounts receivable records current and well organized.
• Prepare and post journal entries with proper backup documentation to maintain accurate accounting records.
• Reconcile bank accounts regularly, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Support general ledger maintenance by reviewing account activity and ensuring transactions are recorded correctly.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial data validation.
• Maintain organized accounting documentation and provide support during audits or internal financial reviews.
• Contribute to accounting process improvements and assist with additional finance-related tasks as business needs require.• Experience in accounting roles with hands-on responsibility for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Working knowledge of general ledger activity, account reconciliation, and journal entry preparation.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and identify variances in a timely manner.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage financial data with a high level of accuracy.
• Proficiency with common accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for daily financial operations.
• Good organizational and communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
