Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer who thrives on solving complex data challenges and building scalable, enterprise-grade solutions. This role is for a detail-oriented, analytical professional with deep SQL expertise and experience supporting data warehouses, analytics platforms, and batch processing environments. This is a hybrid position that requires the candidate to work from the office at least three days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Support and enhance enterprise Data Warehouse architectures, including dimensional modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts for automation and batch scheduling.
• Work with Mainframe datasets and utilities to extract and integrate data.
• Build and support datasets and data models for IBM Cognos Analytics reporting.
• Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
• Troubleshoot data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

Technical Skills: Advanced SQL expertise across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server is required. Proficiency with Linux shell scripting (bash, ksh, etc.) is necessary. Experience with Mainframe systems (JCL, datasets, utilities) and hands-on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or similar BI tools are also required.

Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts such as ETL, dimensional modeling, data marts, and OLAP is needed. Candidates must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
