Assistant General Manager

MÍRATE is a contemporary Mexican restaurant in Los Feliz celebrating the depth, diversity, and culture of Mexican food and beverage. Led by Chef Alan Sanz , with a North America's 50 Best Bar beverage program by Maxwell Reis , MÍRATE is a high-volume, hospitality-driven restaurant with a strong focus on food, cocktails, agave spirits and creating a memorable guest experience.

We are looking for an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team and help lead the day-to-day operation of MÍRATE.

The AGM is a key member of the management team, supporting the General Manager in maintaining a high level of hospitality, operational excellence, and team accountability. This person should be an experienced restaurant leader who is highly present on the floor, understands the details of service, and can effectively lead both managers and hourly team members.

• Lead daily restaurant operations alongside the General Manager.

• Maintain a strong, visible leadership presence during service.

• Coach, mentor, and hold managers and hourly employees accountable.

• Ensure consistent execution of MÍRATE’s service and hospitality standards.

• Support training, onboarding, performance reviews, and employee development.

• Assist with scheduling, labor management, and daily operational planning.

• Monitor service flow, guest experience, cleanliness, and restaurant standards.

• Handle guest concerns with professionalism and sound judgment.

• Support opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and operational checklists.

• Work closely with the kitchen, bar, and service teams to maintain strong communication.

• Assist with inventory, ordering, cost controls, and other administrative responsibilities.

• Help identify operational issues and implement solutions.

• Act as MOD when the General Manager is not present.

• Represent MÍRATE’s culture, values, and hospitality standards at all times.

• 3+ years of progressive restaurant management experience, preferably in a high-volume, chef-driven or hospitality-focused environment.

• Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations and service standards.

• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

• Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solutions-oriented under pressure.

• A genuine passion for hospitality, food, beverage, and people.

• Strong understanding of labor, cost controls, and restaurant financials.

• Someone who leads by example and is comfortable being hands-on.

• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
