Manager, Accounts Payable

Ray Therapeutics mission is to restore vision to people with retinal degenerations. RayTx is using a novel bioengineered optogenetic protein optimized for human vision delivered by AAV to restore visual function in a mutation agnostic approach and without vRTx-015 in retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative retinal disease with significant unmet medical need as well as a pipeline to treat both rare and large market indications.
We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join our growing Finance & Accounting team, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller
.This position is based in Berkeley, CA and requires 3 days a week in-office
.

w:This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions, expense reports, vendor communications, and related general accounting activities. The candidate thrives in a fast-moving biotech environment, brings deep technical AP expertise, and is energized by building scalable processes from the ground up. In addition, this candidate should be able self-motivated, adaptable, and a strong team player with a solid work ethi

Key Responsibilitie
- s: Oversee full-cycle accounts payable operations utilizing Bill.com, Concur, Quickbooks and Netsuite, including invoice processing and approva
- ls.Build/Support AP processes to support growth with increasing vendor vol
- umeManage and monitor the AP email inbox, including responding to vendor inquiries, payment requests, and invoice related questio
- ns.Ensure accurate coding of expenses, particularly across R&D, clinical, and G&A cost cent
- ersDrive system optimization, including workflows, approval routing, vendor records, and reporting enhanceme
- ntsSupport the formalization of SOX-compliant AP processes, documentation, and contr
- olsAdhere and enforce internal controls, including, 3-way match (PO, invoice, receipt) and approval workflows and spending authority lim
- itsSupport quarterly reviews and annual audit by providing requested documentation to audit
- orsManage AP close activities, including accruals (with a focus on legal, consultants and R&D spe
- nd)Oversee vendor onboarding and maintenance within the ERP, including validation of tax forms (W-9), banking details, and compliance che

Qualifications & Experi
- enceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related f
- ield6–10+ years of progressive AP or accounting experi
- encePrior experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences; development‑stage or pre‑commercial experience strongly prefe

Compensation Range and Ben
- efitsFor this role, the anticipated base salary range: $120K- 140K, based on the candidate's professional experience level. The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to skills, education, and experi
