Tooling Assembly Technician

This role offers the opportunity to become an expert in assembling critical tooling used in our standard product line while making a direct impact on team performance and process improvement.

Extol, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Tooling Assembly Technician to support the assembly of hot plate weld tooling and standard machine build activities. This position is responsible for assembling, wiring, plumbing, and debugging tooling from initial build through processing. Strong candidates will demonstrate mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret prints and schematics, and a mindset focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate

• Assembles and debugs tooling from simple to complex builds, including mechanical assembly, wiring, and pneumatic systems.
• Reads and interprets technical documentation such as prints, schematics, and 3D models to ensure accurate builds.
• Takes ownership of tooling builds and processes, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely completion.
• Collaborates with design, project management, and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve outcomes.
• Identifies problems and implements solutions, contributing to continuous improvement of standard manufacturing processes.
• Maintains organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent with strong technical or mechanical background.
• Experience in assembly, tool building, or a related manufacturing environment (not entry-level).
• Ability to read prints, schematics, and 3D models.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.
