SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

FellowshipLIFE is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys digging into financials, solving problems, improving processes, and helping others succeed.

Reporting to the Director of Finance , you'll support the financial operations of our Life Plan Communities and affiliated businesses across New Jersey while serving as a key technical resource for the accounting team.

What You'll Do

• Oversee accounting and budget activities for assigned FellowshipLIFE communities.
• Review P&L statements, balance sheets, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Provide day-to-day guidance, work review, and mentoring to 1-2 accounting team members.
• Manage accounting related to resident revenue, entrance fees, deferred revenue, healthcare revenue, and ancillary services.
• Prepare financial analysis, including occupancy, payer mix, aging, revenue trends, and management reporting.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Partner with operational leaders to understand financial results and improve reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, annual audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, documentation, and efficiency.
• Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives with the Director of Finance.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field .
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience .
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and month-end close .
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and audit schedules.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a multi-entity environment; senior living, healthcare, real estate, or nonprofit experience is a plus .
• Entrance fee, deferred revenue, amortization, or contract-based accounting experience is highly valued.
• Ability to periodically travel to FellowshipLIFE communities throughout New Jersey.
