Senior Business Systems Analyst

Over the next 3-5 years, our client, a major global specialty chemical manufacturing company, plans to implement SAP as their ERP system. The first step in this important project is to create an SAP Global Template (GT) for all of the “back office” functions throughout the entire company; this GT process is expected to take 6 months with the first implementation to take another 6-12 months. To accomplish this, we are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst with excellent SAP experience with FI/CO and specifically with the Record to Report and/or Procure to Pay function. Within the company organization, this person will be called an ERP Business Process Owner (BPO).

Each end-to-end process in the GT and future SAP implementations will have a BPO who is responsible for the definition of the end-to-end ‘to-be’ processes within their process area. The BPO will be instrumental in determining the process design, testing, data conversion, training and deployment activities in the GT and future implementations. The BPO champions the design changes globally gaining key stakeholder buy-in for the future state processes.

- Facilitates achieving common global process design for their area of process accountability using leading practices.

- Ensures participation of appropriate subject matter experts to support process redesign efforts and compliance.

- Provides detailed information on current processes and business requirements and approves process design decisions consulting with appropriate stakeholders and design team participants.

- Works with divisions and business units to understand KPIs which are required by the business and ensures their processes allow for the capture and consistent measurement of data as required.

- Raises issues and addresses gaps within the scope of work; if necessary, escalate issues and questions to the programme leadership.

- Resolves global process design issues to meet project timelines.

- Ensures scope changes are appropriately managed through the change control process, providing the sponsorship for such changes in scope that relate to their process area.

- Communicate key messages throughout the business process function team and the broader client community.

- Actively participates in future implementations communicating requirements of global processes and ensuring consistency throughout implementations.

- Supports end user training development and delivery.

- Supports testing activities as required throughout the test phase. Identify key users for product test and user acceptance testing (UAT).

- Identifies improvements to enhance the quality, relevance, efficiency and control of information that a first class, global organisation requires.

- Develops and fosters a culture of continuous improvement within every ERP implementation.

- Provides status reporting to the Organisational Change Project Manager and the Program Director.

- BS degree

- Experience with SAP “record to report” or “procure to pay”

- Deep knowledge of the financial end-to-end business process

- An understanding of what best practice for systems, controls and processes looks like

- Experience identifying and implementing new processes

- Experience in a management role with evidence of strong influencing skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Position will involve some international travel during the first six months of the project.
