Work Environment

The physical setting of this role will be onsite at our hospital facility in Reno, Nevada, where you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. The work hours are typically Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some flexibility needed to accommodate patient appointments and clinic operations. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Implementing direct physical therapy interventions based on the treatment plan established by licensed physical therapists.
• Engaging patients in therapeutic exercises aimed at relieving pain, restoring function, and maintaining optimal physical performance.
• Guiding patients through both active and passive exercises, reeducation of muscle function, gait training, and transfer techniques.
• Employing a variety of physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and light therapeutic massage tailored to individual patient needs.
• Monitoring patients' progress and reporting any significant changes in their condition to the supervising physical therapist efficiently.
• Educating patients on the proper use of mobility aids such as wheelchairs, braces, canes, and prosthetic devices.
• Maintaining meticulous clinical records, timely documentation of patient notes, and attending to ongoing professional development through organizational in-service programs.
• Participating proactively in quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives within our team.
• Taking on additional responsibilities as assigned to support our mission of delivering outstanding care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population ranging from post-surgical recovery individuals to those needing rehabilitation for chronic conditions. Your focus will be on tailoring therapy sessions to meet unique patient needs, promoting an inclusive atmosphere that respects diversity in age, physical ability, and personal backgrounds.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• A current state certification or license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Valid CPR certification to ensure patient safety during therapeutic procedures.
• A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle meeting the organization's insurance requirements.

Preferred Experience

Candidates should have at least two years of relevant clinical experience working within a hospital or similar rehabilitation setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and prior exposure to interdisciplinary collaboration will enhance the candidate's effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
