Staff AccountantThe Staff Accountant collaborates with the Controller and bookkeeper to perform complex accounting functions with precision and accuracy. This role includes managing bookkeeping activities, preparing financial statements, and delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate upholds the highest ethical standards while enhancing the Agency's reputation and contributing to customer satisfaction, relationship building, and profit goals.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable operationsProcess incoming payments, prepare daily deposits, and manage bank transactionsHandle agency billing, distribute invoices to account managers, and post direct bill commissionsReceive and record direct bill customer payments and issue carrier payments when neededCreate and maintain financial reports and accounting statementsVerify accounting reports for accuracy and post journal entries to the general ledgerEnsure proper allocation of expenditures according to departmental proceduresProvide timely and professional responses to all correspondence and phone inquiriesAdhere to all company policies and proceduresPerform additional duties as assigned by managementQualificationsAccounting or business degree preferredMinimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience requiredAt least 1 year of MS Excel experienceComprehensive knowledge of bookkeeping principles and proceduresStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyExcellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to work effectively in team settings and independentlyProficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and internet applicationsPersonable demeanor with strong interpersonal skillsExperience with accounting software and spreadsheets preferred
