Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) Med/Surg Telemetry – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day/Night rotation, 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 / 1900-0730), every other weekend rotation, holidays as needed. Rotators will not flip between days/nights more than 2 times per 6-week scheduling period, with 36 hours off guaranteed between schedule flips.

• 25-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diverse conditions under Family Medicine service
• Daily census of approximately 20 patients with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system with full electronic health record integration
• Magnet-designated teaching facility ranked as Wisconsin's top hospital and recognized nationally for clinical excellence
• Specialized unit includes secure wing for Department of Corrections patients (0-10 at any given time) with dedicated officer accompaniment
• Telemetry competency exam required prior to start with specific passing criteria for rhythm interpretation

Requirements

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry specialty
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency in IV starts and maintenance required
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills including identification of lethal rhythms and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with central lines, PICC lines, PCA pumps, wound care, ports, feeding tubes, and isolation precautions
• Previous experience providing care to law enforcement/corrections patients preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
• Willingness to float as needed within clinical competency
