Assistant Front Office Manager

Job Details Job Location: 778 - Kansas City Intercontinental – Kansas City, MO 64112 Position Type: Full Time Job Summary Assistant Front Office Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Front Desk, coordinates the Front Office activities, resolves issues from guest complaints, reservation and room assignment activities, and unusual requests and inquiries. This role performs duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Work with the Front Desk Manager to exceed guest satisfaction scores in all hotel areas. Responsible for satisfaction scores for the front desk operations; addresses any deficiencies immediately. Work with corporate training to develop action plans necessary to meet expected guest satisfaction scores. Train guest service agents on proper front desk procedures. Recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates for front desk positions together with the Front Office Manager. Prepare weekly schedules for front office staff. Address performance deficiencies of front office staff through coaching and disciplinary actions. Complete performance evaluations for front office staff in a timely manner. Post weekly guest satisfaction scores for staff review. Oversee and manage the Front Office to ensure efficient operations and guest care, supporting profit goals. Self‑manage revenue and expenses to minimize loss and maximize profit. Create an environment that motivates staff; lead by example and coach throughout employment. Ensure guest service agents maintain clean uniforms and name badges. Ensure mandatory reports are submitted timely and of adequate quality for corporate review. Monitor rates daily for accuracy. Manage inventory in the property management system. Review work performed by the night auditor. Maintain mandatory attendance and punctuality. Adhere to grooming and dress code compliance. Perform duties requested by supervisor. Act as Manager on Duty during mandatory duty calls. QUALIFICATIONS Must have four‑year college degree or equivalent education/experience, with 2–3 years in related hotel positions. Must possess discipline‑specific hospitality/hotel knowledge and supervisory experience. Must possess excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Must handle cash/credit transactions and have Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency. Must know general office equipment and cash register operations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must stand and move throughout hotel propogations performing essential job functions. Must lift up to 25 pounds. Must perform occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking. Must communicate frequently through talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
