Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care across the lifespan in accordance with organizational standards, policies, and evidence-based practice. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered services. This role involves collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates medical care and medication refills for Behavioral Health/Psychiatry patients.
• Conducts nursing evaluations, injections, and lab collection as appropriate.
• Coordinates care plans with primary and specialty providers.
• Delivers culturally sensitive, evidence-based mental health/SUD nursing care aligned with treatment plans.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care.
• Implements and evaluates nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and initiates appropriate interventions or escalation of care.
• Provides patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
• Advocates for patient care and assists patients in navigating the healthcare system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska.
• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Recent experience in Case Management within the last 2 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Proof of flu vaccine is mandatory.

Schedule

Available shifts include:

• Monday through Friday 8 AM - 5 PM
• Monday through Friday 10 AM - 7 PM
• Tuesday through Saturday 8 AM - 5 PM

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
