This is a Travel position. You must live more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered for this position.

Description:

Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Days) | Multi-Unit | New York State

Contract Details

• Contract must run through holidays: 22–26 weeks
• Full-time, 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• 2 on-call shifts required per 4-week period
• Must be able to float between Med/Surg, ICU, and ED units across two facility locations

Position Summary

• Must be comfortable floating to ICU, ED, Med/Surg, and Med/Surg Telemetry units
• Cross-training across multiple units is required
• BSN and critical care experience are required

Licensure

• Currently licensed by New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse

Certifications – Required

• BLS – must be through American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI system
• ACLS – must be through American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI system
• PALS – must be through American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI system
• NIHSS required
• Basic Coronary Care required within 6 months of hire
• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire

Certifications – Preferred

• Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association recommended within 2 years of hire
• TNCC recommended within 2 years of hire

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care units
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Computer literacy

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office products
• Experience with electronic medical records

• Must be able to provide care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient groups
