Veterans Nursing Asst - Cert

This role provides direct nursing assistance and daily support to residents in a long-term care setting, helping ensure their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, supporting treatments directed by clinical staff, monitoring resident needs, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Essential Functions:

• Under general supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, performs nursing assistance and personal care for residents with physical and/or mental impairments adhering to State and Federal regulatory guidelines.
• Performs the following treatment measures as directed by clinical staff.
• Continually inspects and checks residents in the assigned areas to ensure comfort and safety.
• Performs routine straightening and organizing of the residents' units.
• Performs effective infection control practices utilizing universal precautions in resident care.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires successful completion of an Illinois approved Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program consisting of a minimum of 120 hours of instruction which shall include at least 80 hours of theoretical instruction and 40 hours of clinical practice.
