Job Overview

The Sr. Project Manager, Key Commercial Accounts is responsible for all aspects of planning for Commercial Accounts (Karl Storz, Zimmer, others as assigned) orders from internal kick-off meeting (KOM) to installation completion and is operationally and financially accountable for successful project execution ensuring high quality and high customer satisfaction while meeting company margin targets. The position will develop project timelines, assemble required project teams, visit construction sites, and maintain effective communication throughout the project. The position also ensures quality and on-time delivery to our customers, oversees construction site preparedness, and coordinates the overall installation process until handing over to Service. The Sr. Project Manager will mentor and train new Project Managers; train all Project Managers in Subject Matter Expert (SME) area and provide back up support for Sr. Manager, National Project Operations . This position requires approximately 70% travel (including internationally) by both car and airplane. 

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

• Develop and lead a tailored project strategy for marquee commercial customers, including requirements outside of Getinge’s standard scope.
• Ensure cross functional collaboration between Getinge’s Project Operations, Commercial Operations, Factory, and Local Teams.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align and achieve Getinge’s long-term commercial growth strategies.
• Determine the appropriate staffing levels required for installations, schedule installation staff, and confirm staffing plan with customers, general contractors, and sales representatives.
• For outside the Continental US (OCONUS) orders, a heavy dependency on 3rd Party contractors will be utilized. Travel outside the US will be minimized by using 3rd Party Maxim and the Sales Account Manager responsible.
• For Continental US (CONUS) orders, local resources (Local PM and Local Service Technicians) may be utilized to reduce travel costs, depending on project scope and guidelines.
• Ensure the quality of workmanship of installations
• Manage and audit external installation contractors. Manage invoice approval and certification process in line with established company process and guidelines.
• Manage the budget associated with various projects to ensure profit margin targets are met.
• Assist in the process of design drawing review, approval, and sign-off and final drawing package distribution.
• Monitor the production schedule with supply chain demand planners to ensure that the project remains on track. Maintain contact with Logistics operations to confirm final shipment date.
• Manage the execution of inventory when equipment arrives at a customer site.
• Conduct pre-installation site inspections in the USA. Responsible for installation site readiness.
• Develop and maintain a business climate that fosters a positive and cooperative working relationship between customers, Getinge personnel, and third-party contractors and vendors.
• Provide technical expertise to internal customers; to include Corporate Accounts, Product Management, Service, Technical Support, Engineering, and RA/QA.
• Mentor and train new Project Managers.
• Provide back up support for Sr. Manager, National Project Operations.
• Assist in the resolution of problems that may develop to the mutual benefit of the customer and Getinge. Regularly communicate with the Installation Specialists, Sales Representatives, Field Service Technicians, and Sr. Manager, National Project Operations.
• Comply with all health and safety codes and procedures and quality standards as mandated by Getinge policies, customer/contractor requirements, and regulatory agencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 8 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Project Management Certification or approximately two years’ leading and directing projects and experience in project management education.
• Must have a valid passport and driver’s license.

• Proven experience in the application of technical principles, practices, and procedures.
• Strong understanding of specified functional area.
• Proven experience in the application of technical principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent understanding of business unit function and cross group dependencies/relationships.
• Establishes and cultivates an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of technical assignments.
• Willingness to lead a project team as required.
• Provide input to management on technical and business solutions and relevant reports.
• Exercises sound business judgment when selecting innovative and practical methods to achieve problem resolution.
• Required to evaluate and interpret extensive data to help formulate decisions and / or recommendations.
• Advanced to Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.

• Indirect supervision of 3rd Party installation contractors.

• Follow up with all levels of management.

Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions

• Ensures environmental consciousness and safe practices are exhibited in decisions
• Must be able to climb a ladder
• Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments
• May work extended hours during peak business cycles
• Travel up to 70%, including international travel.

Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000 based on experience and location, plus 10% bonus target, eligible for company vehicle
