SNAP Quality Assurance (QA) Data Specialist.

Job Overview This position is open to current Colorado residents and is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 2 in‑office days at 1575 Sherman St. The Food and Energy Assistance Division oversees major Federal programs such as SNAP, EBT, FDP, S‑EBT, and LEAP. The Research, Evaluation, and Data team supports SNAP with reporting, data analysis, program evaluation, and process improvement, ensuring accurate and timely benefit delivery, program equity, and integrity. Responsibilities Act as the staff authority for SNAP Quality and Performance data, leveraging expertise in multiple data systems (CBMS, FIS, QCS, Rushmore, EBTedge). Create and maintain comprehensive reports outside of core SNAP databases, develop data dictionaries to ensure compliance with program reporting requirements. Extract data from 3–4 source databases, evaluate programming and coding best practices for combining multiple SNAP data sets. Design, build, and manage statewide data reporting systems using SQL, Tableau, TOAD, and Microsoft Excel to support day‑to‑day operations and performance management. Integrate data from DSS01, FIS, QCS, Rushmore, and other source systems to facilitate analysis and improve operational efficiency. Develop dashboards and visualizations that present performance metrics (APT, RPT, PER, CAPER) for executive, program, and county‑level stakeholders. Communicate strategic performance analysis in internal and external meetings, providing actionable programmatic recommendations. Support SNAP teams in developing corrective action plans and CBMS improvements; evaluate error trends statewide and recommend guidance, training, or system enhancements. Other duties as assigned to support the Department, FEAD, and SNAP Team vision and goals. Minimum Qualifications Seven (7) years of relevant experience in data management, reporting, and analysis, including large, complex relational databases, data extraction and manipulation. Must demonstrate proficiency in SQL, interpret complex metrics to form actionable recommendations, and communicate insights to stakeholders for quality improvement. Preferred Qualifications SNAP policy experience Knowledge of statistics and research design CBMS eligibility system experience Experience with Oracle database Experience with Tableau Relevant state service experience (transfers only) Conditions of Employment Background check: CBI, Colorado Court Database, Medicare Fraud Database (name check only). Motor vehicle record check: required if position requires driving a state‑owned vehicle. In‑state travel to county offices may be required.
