Job Opportunity

Position Overview

This position offers a night shift with 3x12-hour schedules from 19:00 to 07:00. The role requires labor and postpartum experience, and travelers will need to float between similar units as needed. Local candidates are not accepted for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:3.
• Support and educate patients and their families on care procedures and health concerns.
• Conduct assessments, administer medications, and assist in various procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required, including charge experience.
• Certifications: Current certifications in ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP are required. AWHONN Advanced certification is preferred.
• Licensure: A valid Compact nursing license must be active at the time of application.

  • Administration of blood products and medication management.
  • Ability to assist in high-risk deliveries and provide postpartum care.
  • Experience with various nursing procedures relevant to labor and delivery.

Unit and Facility Details

This position is located in a 277-bed acute care hospital. The facility includes interdisciplinary support from various services including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.

Orientation and Training

A 36-hour orientation will be provided to prepare for the assignments. Modules may be required, with an average completion time of 16 hours.

Additional Information

Travelers can expect to be called off once per two-week pay period. All requests for time off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission, with specific requirements stated upfront. Inflexibility may lead to assignment termination and a Do Not Return status.

Travelers may be expected to float between similar facilities nearby. Refusal to float may affect guaranteed hours. Communication devices required for the role will be supplied by the facility, although additional reimbursement may be available for mobile devices used for work purposes.
