Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for patients and families to identify emotional, social, and environmental strengths and weaknesses related to their health situations.

• Formulate, develop, and implement effective treatment plans, utilizing a range of social work interventions that address the unique needs of each patient.

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to integrate patient and family involvement in the development and execution of care plans.

• Facilitate discharge planning by coordinating with consulting physicians, insurance providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless transition out of care.

• Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding adaptation strategies to cope with illness and life transitions.

• Utilize crisis intervention techniques and provide both brief and long-term individual, group, and family therapy as necessary.

• Serve as a resource for other staff members, offering guidance on complex social work issues.
\n
• Contribute to the education of other healthcare professionals regarding psychosocial dynamics and the impact of mental health on treatment.

• Clinically assess oncology patients for symptoms of depression and anxiety, providing short-term counseling as required.

• Participate in an on-call rotation to manage after-hours calls and support urgent patient needs.

• Independently facilitate involuntary examinations under the Baker Act, following established guidelines to ensure patient safety and legal compliance.

• Present at educational conferences, showcasing expertise in psychosocial oncology practices.
\n
• Engage in community education, consultation, and research to enhance services and support for cancer survivors and other vulnerable populations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work primarily with adult patients experiencing mental health challenges, including those dealing with chronic illnesses such as cancer. You will employ your skills to assess and support patients facing emotional distress due to their medical conditions, aiming to enhance their quality of life and promote stability during challenging times. A strong emphasis will be placed on working collaboratively with patients and their families to foster resilience and effective coping mechanisms.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.

• A valid Texas License for Clinical Social Work (LCSW).

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
