RN Lactation Consultant - Per Diem - Evenings

The RN Lactation Consultant provides lactation management services to expectant and new parents, serving as a nurse leader within the Maternal-Child Services leadership team. This role is ideal for those with a passion for supporting breastfeeding mothers and collaborating with healthcare providers. Highlights Location: Perth Amboy, NJ Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health Schedule: Per Diem, Evening What You'll Do Provide lactation management services to expectant and new parents. Plan, teach, and evaluate classes for breastfeeding mothers. Conduct bedside lactation rounds daily. Consult with mothers experiencing breastfeeding problems. Collaborate with healthcare providers in maternal-child services. Participate in communication and decision-making for Lactation Services. Plan and conduct in-service education for maternity nursing staff. Provide consultative services to new parents by phone as needed. Keep track of breastfeeding statistics and conduct quality assurance programs. Participate in community activities and health fairs as required. Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required Master's Degree in Nursing preferred Experience: Minimum of three years experience in maternal-child health nursing Minimum of three years of experience in lactation consulting services Licenses & Certifications: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License required BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification required International Board Certified Lactation Consultant preferred within 3 years of entering position About Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack Meridian Health is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
