Residential HVAC Apprentice / Entry Level Technician

Job Description

Job Description

We’re Hiring: Residential HVAC Apprentice / Entry Level Technician

Location: Collegeville, PA (Field-Based Role) | Pay Range: $18–$28/hour | Full-Time

Company Overview:

Alpha 1 Heating & Cooling is built for people who want to separate themselves early. We run lean, move fast, and expect effort from day one.

Entry-level positions here are competitive for one reason: everyone says they want an opportunity. Very few show up ready to earn one.

We get a high volume of applicants for apprentice roles. Most don’t make it past the first conversation. The people who rise to the top are the ones who move with urgency, learn quickly, take direction well, and perform without needing to be chased.

This is not a participation-trophy environment. If you want a real trade, real standards, and a chance to build a serious career, keep reading.

Position Summary:

We’re hiring an HVAC Apprentice / Entry Level Technician — someone ready to work, learn fast, and earn responsibility over time.

You’ll work alongside experienced technicians, support service calls, and build the skills needed to eventually run your own calls independently.

Nobody is handed a truck, a title, or trust here.

You earn it through performance.

The right people here get real hands-on training, real responsibility, and real opportunity to advance. We invest in high-potential technicians through continued education and trade school opportunities.

What You’ll Get:

• $18–$28/hour based on performance, skill development, and consistency

• Clear advancement path into Level 2 and beyond

• Real hands-on field experience from day one

• Continued education and trade school opportunities for high performers

• Health Insurance + Retirement Plan

• Paid Holidays + PTO

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with residential HVAC service calls and basic repairs

• Handle tools, materials, and job setup/cleanup

• Follow direction from senior technicians and apply it in real time

• Learn system components, diagnostics, and service procedures

• Maintain your tools, work area, and personal standards

What You’ll Bring:

• 0–2 years of HVAC or mechanical experience (trade school or hands-on)

• Ability to take direction without ego or excuses

• Strong work ethic and sense of urgency

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn under pressure

• Ability to stay productive through physical, fast-paced workdays

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

This work happens in real-world conditions — not climate-controlled shops or clean office buildings.

You’ll work in 130°ree;+ attics in the summer, freezing rain and wind on rooftops in the winter, tight crawlspaces, wet basements, and cramped mechanical spaces year-round.

You’ll carry tools, climb ladders, lift 50+ lbs, stay on your feet, and keep moving when conditions are uncomfortable.

A lot of people say they want to work in HVAC. Some change their mind halfway through their first attic in July.

This trade rewards people who can stay productive, focused, and professional when the conditions stop being comfortable.

Start at the Bottom — Earn Your Way Up

The people who advance fastest here are the ones who learn quickly, take ownership, and perform consistently without needing constant pushing or reminders.

If you want to build real skills, earn real responsibility, and separate yourself from the crowd, apply now.

If you need to be managed every step of the way just to meet basic expectations, this won’t be a fit.

Alpha 1 Heating & Cooling is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We hire based on effort, coachability, performance, and professionalism.
