Job Title: Associate, Electrical EngineerJob Code: 43284Job Location: Wilmington, MAJob Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off.Job Description:Prepare component drawings and specifications for highly complex products that may be electro-optical, opto-mechanical or electro-mechanical in natureProvide support to engineering and purchasing for procurement and selection of parts and materials, prepare nonstandard part and material submittals, interface and work with inside and outside labs to interpret test results and define testing for the purposes of assuring that parts are compliant to requirementsEffectively communicate with program engineers, management, and customers on technical issues and status of workPresent results of analysis to program engineers and customers on a regular basis to ensure proper interpretation and understandingAct as a technical consultant in areas of expertise and to perform technical reviews of material/component quality documentation including supplier data, test results, etc. to assure conformance to stated requirements.Follow established procedures and specific, detailed instructions and/or guidance from more senior functional staffDigital EngineeringDesign, analyze, modify, test and evaluate FPGA and programmable hardwareDesign complex Circuit Card Assemblies to support Avionics and Space customer’s photonic subsystems and integrated communication systemsDigital Design requires programmable logic, VHDL language and digital communications systems knowledgeModem Design (including SATCOM, wireless, cellular and software defined radios) requires knowledge of digital communications systems, waveform generation and signal processing, FPGA design (in VHDL) and familiarity with Digital Signal Processors chipsDSP design positions require knowledge of digital signal processing techniques, algorithm development, software coding and simulation/modeling using MATLABMicroelectronics Design requires training in advanced electronics packaging and MEMS technologyExperience with high density interconnect and semiconductor packaging technology is desiredDetermine design approaches and parametersPerform system analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraintsUtilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate resultsSelect components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliabilityPerform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineersAbility to write scripts to control synthesis and build toolRF EngineeringRF/Microwave Device testing and evaluation including s-parameter, large signal load pull characterization as well as modulated signal measurementsMust have familiarity with common commercial RF design and analysis tools to design and analyze RF circuits and systems (i.e. ADS, HFSS, CST, MATLAB, etc)Determine design approaches and parameters. Utilize design tools such as HFSS, CST, MATLAB, and GRASP Evaluate antennas in anechoic chambers and use network analyzersHardware Design VerificationDesign and modify tests to verify the operational state of various L3Harris products and accessoriesTest, analyze, and evaluate the requirements compliance of L3 Harris hardware productsUtilize tools such as network analyzers and LabVIEWOptical EngineeringPerform optical design and analysis on advanced telescopes, calibrators, unique optical test setsDevelop optical budgets and sensitivities including wavefront error, MTF, line of sight, and throughputPerform analyses to show compliance to optical requirements and specifications for imaging systems, assemblies, component drawings, coatings, etc.Perform tolerancing analyses to assess manufacturability and optical alignmentProvide optical modeling, analysis and metrology support during system alignment, integration and testingPerform other unique modeling tasks, such as: spectral tuning/splitting, polarization, phase retrieval, image simulation, etc.Support the development of optical technologies and architectural concepts to support the company’s current and new business opportunitiesQualifications:To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or related field or have completed theirBachelor’sdegree within the last 12months,regardlessof age.   Preferred Skills:Knowledge and/or experience with VHDL, MCM, HFSS, Network, Power, Analog, Antennas, Controls, ENE, RF, Photonics, Modem, EDA, DSP, MATLAB, Communication Systems, FPGA, Aerospace industry or Optical EngineeringKnowledge of Code V and/or Zemax software toolsExcellent communication, technical writing and presentation skillsKnowledge of FRED, Matlab, PythonKnowledge of and/or understanding circuit analysis and operational conceptsFamiliarity with various computing environments (LINUX/Windows)In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is$71,000.00 - $132,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
