Lake Compounce - Seasonal Retail Lead

Job Overview The Retail Lead is responsible for managing operations of one or more retail locations at Lake Compounce, including training, accountability, visual merchandising, inventory controls, cashier duties, and quality controls. The role also assists with ancillary revenue activities related to rentals and food & beverage as needed. Responsibilities Assist with daily supervision of the Retail team and any other assigned departments. Lead by example, acting as a representation of Lake Compounce’s core values. Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hosts. Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all retail and rental positions and backfill these positions when needed. Assist with onboarding and training of team members. Ensure required meal and other breaks are provided according to Connecticut law. Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities. Welcome and greet all guests at retail locations. Perform opening and closing procedures, including daily cleanup. Manage inventory levels, complete daily stocking, and maintain stock par levels. Communicate inventory needs to Retail Manager before items are sold out. Collaborate on merchandising to improve product sales. Ensure adherence to departmental and company policies. Monitor cashier activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with POS procedures. Maintain visual merchandising standards and cleanliness of store areas. Oversee ancillary duties related to lockers, speedy pass, and water park rentals. Apply food & beverage guidelines when required. Be alert for possible theft and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Perform all other duties assigned by leadership. Requirements No education required. 1+ years of retail, point of sale, and/or supervisory experience desirable. Must be Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Fluent English required; Spanish or other bilingual skills a plus. At least 16 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts. Compliance with uniform policies. Exceptional customer service skills and ability to resolve issues positively. Experience with POS technology and PCI compliance a plus. Ability to follow direction, multi-task, work independently and as part of a team. Physical & Working Conditions Stand, walk, and remain on feet for the majority of the workday. Frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders. Use a step ladder safely. Carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Work in both indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to variable temperatures, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and other weather conditions. Potential exposure to dust and chemical cleaning agents. Frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
