Compliance with Connecticut labor laws is required for all applicants. Responsibilities Oversee break rotations, patrolling, and documentation. Supervise the security team and related departments. Lead by example and represent Lake Compounce core values. Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hosts. Backfill essential duties of all security positions when needed. Participate in new‑hire training activities. Ensure all required meal and other breaks are given in accordance with Connecticut law. Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities. Departmental Duties Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property. Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points. Perform access control and personal property inspections at park entrance and exits. Report irregularities to prevent losses and damage. Patrol park grounds and parking lots. Assist attendants with traffic duties as needed. Enforce parking lot rules and regulations. Identify potential security risks and threats. Respond to routine and emergency calls. Enforce park rules and regulations. Education and Experience Connecticut Guard Card is required. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. College degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline desired. 2+ years of previous security, criminal justice, or related experience highly desired. Experience equivalence considered. Requirements At least 18 years of age. Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to fill in for third shift (overnight) if required. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with good record. Ability to safely operate motorized vehicles and equipment. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish or other bilingual skills a plus. Ability to apply security methods, procedures, interviewing, listening, and note‑taking techniques. Fair, objective, and courteous interaction with the public. Rapid assessment and action in tense situations. Proficient with electronic equipment such as cameras, radios, and computers. Exceptional customer service skills. Keep required certifications up to date. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of shift. Occasional stooping, twisting, kneeling, bending, squatting, or reaching above shoulders. Walk, stand, or run on uneven surfaces. Stand or sit for extended periods while using computer/camera equipment. Lift, push, pull, or hold objects up to 30 pounds. Good visual acuity, night vision, and peripheral vision. Ok vision of details beyond a few feet distance. Working Conditions Work in office and public park environments. Exposure to variable outdoor temperatures and weather conditions. Subject to dark environments, especially midnight shift. Repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and crowds. Frequent interruptions and priority re‑adjustments.
