JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Department: Renal Dialysis Unit

Shift Timings: 18:30 - 07:00 Hours Monday to Friday 3 days 12 hours shift

Per Week: 36 Hours

• Unit Capacity: 21 Beds
• Population Served: Renal medical patients (peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis) as well as general medical patients. Ages of Patients Served: Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+)
• Nurse to Patient Ratios : 1:6
• Core Staffing Plan: Variable staffing grid to include: Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Interns (NIs).
• An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.
• Staffing Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BLS and ACLS
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong technical skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Passionate about patient care
• Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Med/Surg experience.
• Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
• Active unencumbered Tennessee state license
• One year of Cerner experience

Requirements
• COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
