ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

If you're naturally curious, detail-oriented, and enjoy turning complex information into practical learning experiences, we want to talk to you. As an Instructional Designer, you'll help build a new, job-specific training program that equips Okland employees with the knowledge and skills to succeed in their roles. You'll partner with subject matter experts to uncover how work gets done and translate that knowledge into engaging digital learning, instructor-led training, videos, and job aids. You'll thrive in this role if you ask thoughtful questions, build strong relationships, take ownership from discovery through delivery, and look for smarter ways to create high-quality training using emerging technology.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

• Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to understand job responsibilities, processes, tools, and performance expectations, asking thoughtful questions to uncover gaps and clarify complex information.

• Apply adult learning and instructional design principles to identify training needs, establish learning objectives, and select effective learning approaches.

• Develop self-paced digital learning, instructor-led curriculum, videos, activities, scenarios, assessments, job aids, and other performance-support resources.

• Create engaging multimedia content using effective scripting, visual storytelling, filming, video editing, audio, graphics, and pacing.

• Translate technical or unfamiliar subject matter into clear, accurate, practical learning experiences that reflect how work is performed.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to validate content, incorporate feedback, and ensure training meets business and learner needs.

• Maintain high standards for accuracy, clarity, functionality, accessibility, visual quality, and consistency across learning materials.

• Explore AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve learning quality, accelerate production, and reduce repetitive work.

• Partner with stakeholders to establish meaningful performance indicators, evaluate learning effectiveness, and continuously improve training based on learning outcomes and on-the-job performance.

YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

• Experience in instructional design, learning and development, curriculum development, training, or a related field.

• Experience creating digital learning and instructor-led training, including learning objectives, assessments, activities, and job aids.

• Experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, or similar platforms.

• Video editing and multimedia production experience, ideally for educational or explanatory content.

• Strong discovery, communication, organization, and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

• A portfolio demonstrating instructional design and multimedia development capabilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with subject matter experts to develop training for technical, operational, or specialized roles.

• Proficiency with video production tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, DaVinci Resolve, or similar platforms.

• Experience using AI, automation, or emerging technologies to improve learning development and production workflows.

• Experience evaluating training effectiveness through performance metrics and on-the-job outcomes.
