Burn-Focused Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Iowa Healthcare offers a one-year, ACGME-accredited program with a specialized focus on burn care. This fellowship provides an exceptional opportunity for an in-depth experience in the management of the entire spectrum of critical care surrounding burns, complex wounds in addition to complex surgical and cardiac conditions in a critical care setting. This Burn-Focused Surgical Critical Care fellowship provides an opportunity to develop expertise in burn care while mastering the full spectrum of critical care surgery, supported by a multidisciplinary team committed to compassionate & high-quality patient care. Upon completion of this 1 year combined fellowship there is the opportunity to complete the American Board of Surgical Critical Care and practice as a Board-Certified Burn-Surgical Critical Care physician. All interested applicants must match the eligibility requirements based on the ACGME Guidelines which include: Prior to appointment in the program, fellows must have completed at least three clinical years in an ACGME-accredited or AOA-accredited graduate medical education program in one of the following specialties: anesthesiology, emergency medicine, neurological surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedic surgery, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, surgery, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, or urology. Applicants must be either eligible for the American Board of Surgery Certification or certified with the American Board of Surgery.
