About the Position

Job Opportunity – Pediatric Medical-Surgical/Hematology-Oncology Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: November 23, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Care for pediatric patients ages 0-17 with medical-surgical conditions and hematology/oncology diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 across all shifts with self-scheduling flexibility
• Epic charting system with PYXIS and SBAR protocols
• 13-week assignment with up to 7 days pre-approved time off (no holidays)
• Float to PICU and NICU as needed; no call requirement
• 24-hour unit orientation with interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, and social services

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Chemotherapy administration experience and certification strongly preferred
• IV start and lab draw skills preferred
• Experience with central line care, port management, and isolation precautions
• First-time travelers accepted if they meet experience requirements
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must complete 8-10 hours of pre-start online modules using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
