Data Center Fiber Technician

Job Summary As an Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the physical infrastructure that supports the data center’s connectivity, including fiber optic networks, underground conduits, and aerial cabling systems. Job Duties Fiber Infrastructure Maintenance Inspect, test, and repair fiber optic cables and splice enclosures Perform routine audits of fiber routes and document any anomalies Monitor signal integrity and troubleshoot transmission issues Installation & Upgrades Install new fiber lines, conduits, and related hardware Assist with expansions of the outside plant network to support new server clusters Coordinate with vendors and contractors for large-scale installations Site Surveys & Documentation Qualifications 1-3+ years of prior Data Center, Fiber, or Cabling experience required Knowledge of structured cabling standards and fiber optic technologies Familiarity with environmental systems such as HVAC, electrical backup systems, and fire suppression systems Low voltage experience is a big plus but not required Prefer cabling experience (coax, fiber, cat5, cat6, punch downs, etc.) but not required High school diploma or equivalent Must be willing to submit to a driving record check, background check, and drug screen Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Temple, TX. This is a fully onsite role. Pay and Benefits Pay range: $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
