Summary Assists callers and/or patients in the following capacities: way‑finding, appointment scheduling, pre‑service registration, insurance verification, co‑pay collection, physician referral, initial screening of patient signs/symptoms, class scheduling and any other questions or concerns. Performs patient information queries, answers general information questions, and provides a high level of customer service to present a positive impression of Summa Health. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Post‑high school level coursework in healthcare, accounting, business, public relations, or related field Experience and Training Requirements One (1) year of customer service or general office support experience in any industry; contact or call center experience preferred Experience in Registration, Insurance Verification/Pre‑Certification, Financial counseling, Patient Accounts an plus Ability to pass a typing test administered by Human Resources of 25 WPM Ability to pass a medical terminology exam administered by Human Resources Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications Ability to effectively interact with diverse patient populations, respecting their dignity and self‑respect Proficient keyboard skills, high accuracy, and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Demonstrates communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Works well within a team environment, offering and accepting honest, constructive feedback and supporting team goals Highly motivated, works independently, makes decisions, and thrives in a fast‑paced, stressful environment Attentive to detail Organizational competencies: appearance, attitude, courtesy, concern, communication, teamwork, safety Functional competencies: customer service orientation, access operations, quality & compliance management, physician & patient relations, documentation & reporting, employee engagement Personal attributes: customer focus, adaptability and flexibility, ability to follow directions, professionalism, enthusiasm, positivity, integrity/ethical standards, results‑oriented, strong attention to detail Physical Demands Ability to sit for extended periods up to 10 hours Work every other weekend, evenings, and holidays as assigned Reliable transportation required Ability to adjust work hours to meet business demands as required Compensation $17.43 /hr – $20.92 /hr (base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials). The range reflects years of relevant experience and geographical location and is consistent with internal equity. The maximum of the range is not typically achieved at hiring.
