Details PCU Float position supporting primarily Med Surg units Patient ratio of 1:5 Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) 84 hours biweekly with a 72 hour guarantee Must agree to a 36/48 hour alternating schedule; facility may consider straight 48s Weekend work required as needed, potentially most weekends during the contract Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved Floating required to support Med Surg as primary need Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active RN license (TX or Compact) required in-hand before start Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Previous travel nursing experience required Epic charting experience strongly preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation Experience in cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, and MS/Tele settings Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac Experience with IV insulin protocols Experience with pacemakers, post cardiac cath/angiogram, and pre/post cardiac surgery care Additional Information Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the offer or have a plan in place for timely completion Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility Local candidates are not accepted Facility conducts its own drug screening upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing A positive drug screen results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions American Traveler Job ID P-745794.
