Details Neuro PCU/Stepdown unit within a hospital setting Patient ratio of 1:4 at night, occasionally 1:5 Day shift schedules available as 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts (6:45am-7:15pm) Required to float divisionally, including overflow and ED holds Must be able to work 2-3 holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required, in hand before start Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CPI preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Epic charting experience strongly preferred Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, and HFNC management Experience managing neurological conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and TBI Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams Additional Information Provide stepdown-level care to neurological and cardiac telemetry patients Manage patients with renal, gastrointestinal, and endocrine/metabolic conditions as needed Perform wound care and isolation precaution protocols as required Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted for this position RTO requests must be finalized prior to submission or before accepting an offer American Traveler Job ID P-749996.
