Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Executive Chef, located in the Albany, New York Metropolitan Area. The Executive Chef will oversee all culinary operations across the Club — à la carte dining, banquets and private events, and member functions. Responsibilities include menu planning and development, food preparation and presentation, managing and mentoring kitchen staff, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and controlling food, labor, and overall kitchen costs. The Executive Chef will work closely with the General Manager/COO and Club leadership to elevate the member dining experience and support the Club's broader goals. Key Responsibilities Lead, train, and mentor a kitchen team, fostering a culture of accountability and craft Manage food and labor costs, inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships Maintain full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards Partner with the Clubhouse/F&B management team on event execution and member satisfaction Maintain consistency and quality across all outlets and service periods Uphold high standards of plate presentation, creativity, and ingredient quality Qualifications Proven experience as an Executive Chef or senior Sous Chef ready to step up, ideally in a private club, resort, or upscale restaurant setting Strong menu development and food cost management skills Demonstrated leadership and staff management/mentorship experience in a kitchen environment Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation, and hygiene practices Budget management, inventory control, and cost control skills Creativity and attention to detail in developing distinctive, appealing dishes Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, on-site environment Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred Experience in a country club or private club environment strongly preferred Role Importance The culinary program is central to the member experience at Wolfert's Roost.
