Machine Operator – Manufacturing
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
Pay: $18–$25 per hour
Schedule: 10-hour shifts | Full-Time

Job Overview
We’re hiring an experienced Machine Operator for a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Poughkeepsie, NY. This is a hands-on role operating automated and manual machinery to cut and prepare materials according to job specifications.

We’re willing to train the right person on specific equipment and processes, but candidates should have a foundation in machine operation, manufacturing, fabrication, or a similar hands-on production role.

What You’ll Do

• Review job orders and select the correct materials for each job
• Set up and operate automated and manual machinery
• Operate multiple machines during the production process
• Read blueprints and use a tape measure to verify measurements
• Use grinders and hand tools to finish parts
• Move and position raw materials and finished products
• Deburr and spot-check parts throughout production
• Perform quality checks to verify material type, lengths, angles, and part counts
• Move completed parts to the next department
• Keep the work area organized and production moving efficiently
• Operate a forklift to move materials as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Previous machine operator, manufacturing, fabrication, production, or similar experience
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Comfortable using a tape measure and performing basic measurements
• Experience with grinders and hand tools
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Good attention to detail
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently while managing multiple machines
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Willingness to learn new machinery and processes

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move heavy materials
• Ability to stand and remain active throughout a 10-hour shift
• Physical strength and stamina for a hands-on manufacturing environment
• Ability to safely work around machinery and production equipment
