Marketing Director, Portfolio Strategy

AbbVie seeks a Marketing Director to lead long-term strategy and value creation for the U.S. GI Care portfolio. This role integrates portfolio planning, lifecycle management, and competitive strategy while driving alignment across marketing, sales, medical, and finance functions to guide investment decisions and commercial growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead GI Care portfolio strategy, long-range planning, and strategic roadmap development
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to maximize patient impact, growth, profitability, and competitive position
- Assess lifecycle and innovation across indications, formulations, evidence generation, and regulatory strategies
- Evaluate internal pipeline assets and external business development opportunities through commercial due diligence
- Guide investment and resource allocation using market, clinical, operational, and financial insights
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years progressive commercial leadership in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives
- Strong strategic, analytical, financial, and commercial judgment
- Ability to influence senior leaders and align stakeholders without direct authority
- Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills
- Experience navigating ambiguity, anticipating risk, and translating strategy into action
