Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Mobile Vehicle Mechanic Location: Benicia, CA Clean Harbors is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic to conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repair of fleet vehicles at branch locations throughout the area. Responsibilities Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times. Correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventative maintenance on company‑owned equipment as directed by management. Conduct thorough inspections of equipment and identify unsatisfactory conditions. Maintain full compliance with mandatory PPE requirements during all work‑related activities and tasks. Travel to other locations to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment as required. Complete and submit all associated paperwork required for tracking PM schedules. Maintain an active light‑duty or DQ driver status as required for the mobile vehicle type. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. At least 1 year of experience working on heavy‑duty trucks and equipment. At least 1 year of DOT inspection experience. Ability to provide basic tools. Willingness to travel within assigned territory up to 70%. Attention to detail. Strong communication skills. Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime. Ability to determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections, scheduled PMs, and diagnostic tests, and identify worn or damaged parts for replacement.
