Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where compassionate care and professional growth are valued. This Clinical Intern role, supervised by a licensed nurse, offers hands-on experience in patient treatment and care within an emergency department setting.

Under guidance, the Clinical Intern performs a variety of patient care duties tailored to individual age and developmental needs, assisting with daily living activities and supporting nursing staff.

• Provide direct patient care including hygiene assistance such as bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, and grooming.
• Deliver skin care while preventing breakdown and assist with physical activities like repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers.
• Support nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, monitoring intake, and adhering to dietary restrictions.
• Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately.
• Perform sit baths, postmortem care, and apply therapeutic devices such as ted hose, K-pads, and ice packs.
• Lead and encourage participation in performance improvement initiatives and teamwork.
• Carry out technical nursing procedures within credentialed scope, including oxygen therapy management, catheter insertion/removal, intravenous therapy discontinuation, nasopharyngeal suctioning, dressing changes, wound care, and patient assessments.
• Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, maintain NG tubes, and educate patients and families alongside primary nurses.
• Maintain clear communication with nursing staff and promptly report any changes in patient condition or concerns.
• Document all patient care activities thoroughly and accurately in medical records.

Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education without meeting licensing requirements.

Entry-level position; no prior experience required.

Exposure to infectious diseases, radiation, anti-neoplastic agents, and occasionally hostile individuals. Frequent contact with blood and bodily fluids. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
