SURGERY SCHEDULING COORDINATOR

Description Job Summary The Surgery Scheduler Coordinator manages and coordinates surgical procedures, verifies insurance and authorizations, ensures required documentation is complete, and communicates pre-operative instructions to patients. This role works closely with clinical staff to support an efficient scheduling process and a positive patient experience. Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Essential Duties / Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with patients, surgeons, and hospitals. Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations as needed. Maintain records of pre-certifications and authorizations; keep patients informed of progress. Prepare cost estimates and provide information on sedation, anesthesia, and post-op instructions. Schedule post-operative visits and ensure patients meet pre-op requirements. Other Duties as assigned. Required Skills / Abilities Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with patients and clinical staff. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, fax machines). Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity is required to perform tasks involving computer screens and paper documents.
