Certified Medical Assistant

AdventHealth seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations and patient care at our Tampa, FL location. The position requires adherence to institutional standards, maintaining compliance, and providing comprehensive patient services. Location: 3000 Medical Park Dr, Tampa, FL 33613. Schedule: full‑time, day shift (United States). Responsibilities Other duties as assigned and travel as needed to support clinic staffing. Maintain familiarity with policies and procedures and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Prepare patients and equipment for treatment, conduct testing, and document results in the practice’s system. Enforce OSHA regulation and maintain office compliance with safety processes and policies. Provide whole‑care to patients during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, and closure of care gaps. Maintain confidentiality of employees’ and patients’ medical and administrative information. Support teamwork by assisting patients, visitors, and co‑workers when necessary. Perform clinical intake (screenings, history taking, vital signs, medication reconciliation). Assist with minor procedures while ensuring accurate documentation at time of service or results. Educate patients regarding tests, medications, and diet with clear instructions. Monitor and manage inventory to ensure adequate supplies and functioning equipment. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology Knowledge of chronic disease management Ability to utilize internal and external resources Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems Functioning and assisting others in stressful, fast‑paced environments; application of stress‑management techniques Independent problem solving within scope of certification Sound judgment, diplomacy, and professional demeanor Excellent communication skills: reading, writing, typing, speaking, and comprehension in English Computer proficiency Education & Experience High school graduate or equivalent (required) Minimum 1 year of related work experience (preferred) Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support – CPR Certificate (BLS) (required) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (required) Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) (required) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (required) National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) (required) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) (required) Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) (required) Physical Requirements Physical requirements: Background Screening Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
