Location: USA - New Albany, Briscoe Parkway Division: Solutions Job Posting Title: Supervisor - Operations Time Type: Full Time POSITION SUMMARY Schedule: 2B / 2nd Shift Hours: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, Product slotting and customer communication activities daily, including labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing and shipping of products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement. Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect operations. Develop systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures. Manage operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals; comply with terms outlined in the site’s operating agreement with the client. Implement and report on ongoing cost savings measures and provide ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations. Meet all client specified KPI’s and comply with Quality system requirements. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to fairly and equitably supervise, counsel, and discipline team members. Assist Human Resources in developing hiring, training, and professional development programs. Participate in performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities. Hold overall training and evaluation responsibility of warehouse staff. Plan the daily work schedule by reviewing existing work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions. Assess priorities based on time sensitivity and available resources and assign duties to appropriate staff. Review pending jobs or trends, plan for reorganization of warehouse space, and make needed changes in levels of supplies, equipment, or staffing needs. Train new staff in assigned duties or delegate training responsibility to experienced team members. Assess progress of trainees and add additional duties as appropriate. Keep informed of quantity and quality of jobs being performed throughout the day; provide guidance and advice as necessary. Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads for lower‑level warehouse staff. Keep Manager advised of progress or problems requiring attention on a daily basis. Hold regular meetings with warehouse staff to assess the group’s overall status; discuss ideas for improvement. Assist in physical operations as needed; deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time. Maintain high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest levels of customer satisfaction; provide ongoing growth and development opportunities; conduct annual performance reviews. Support adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and train team members with adherence to corporate and client SOPs. SKILLS & ABILITIES High school diploma or GED. 3 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment. 1 year experience in a supervisory role. Preferred: Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation. Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point); knowledge of RF scanners and WMS functions. English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking). Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, or performing other duties. Strong attention to detail; ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner. Good organizational, personnel, communication, leadership, supervision, and planning skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends. Participate in cross‑training metrics activities; assist as backup when needed. Adapt to change and thrive in a fast‑paced environment; work overtime as dictated by business. Work in temperatures ranging from mild to moderate. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. For this position, the expected base pay range is $60,000.00 – $88,000.00 Annual. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
